Baku to Host Practices Hub at World Urban Forum

In Baku, Azerbaijan, organizers will launch the Practices Hub during the thirteenth World Urban Forum, running from May 17 to 22. The Hub intends to connect people working on housing and urban development with practical solutions. It will showcase 171 selected housing practices from 84 countries, gathered through an open call receiving over 200 submissions.

The Hub’s program includes 11 interactive sessions for exchange, alongside networking opportunities. These 90-minute dialogues will focus on diverse approaches to common challenges, encouraging adaptation and scaling of successful initiatives. Representatives from governments, civil society, and the private sector contributed to the selected practices.

The Practices Hub will extend beyond the forum itself. A digital platform will host detailed information about each practice, supporting ongoing learning and the implementation of the New Urban Agenda. The database will be updated regularly, but the long-term success of replicating these solutions remains to be seen.
