UK Program Helps 100,000 Disabled People Approach Work

The UK government reports that 100,000 disabled people and those with health conditions have received support from Pathways to Work advisers to move closer to employment. The program, available at every Jobcentre in England, Scotland, and Wales, offers personalized assistance including skills training and connections to work-based schemes in sectors like construction and hospitality.

Previously, individuals assessed as having Limited Capability for Work and Work-Related Activity (LCWRA) often received no support. Now, specialist advisers identify barriers to employment and provide tailored guidance.

With 2.7 million people on Universal Credit currently assessed as unable to work, the government highlights a 40% increase in the likelihood of employment for program participants after two years. This initiative is part of a £3.5 billion plan to break down barriers and support disabled people into secure jobs.
