Why this is here: The distribution offers an extensive 130 different login configurations, combining kernel versions, init systems, window managers, and file managers for highly customized use.

antiX Linux 26 “Stephen Kapos” released, based on Debian 13 “Trixie.” The new version is a lightweight Debian-based distribution offering a choice of kernels and init systems. It supports both 32-bit and 64-bit hardware, aiming to run efficiently on older PCs and modern systems alike.

antiX 26 simplifies download options to four choices: Full or Core, and 32-bit or 64-bit. Unlike some distros, it completely removes systemd without adding replacements like Elogind. This limits desktop environment choices to IceWM, Fluxbox, JWM, and Herbstluftwm.

The release provides five different init systems and two kernel versions, resulting in 130 possible login configurations. The Full edition includes software like Firefox ESR, LibreOffice, MPV, and XMMS, while the Core edition offers more user control. It requires approximately 8 GB of disk space and around 200 MB of RAM.
