Firefighters contained the blaze and prevented it from spreading to adjacent homes. No injuries were reported in the incident.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown but may be related to ongoing work at the property. Neighbors organized immediate emergency shelter for the two residents.

The mayor of Tienen also arranged overnight accommodation for residents of neighboring homes that suffered water damage. The displaced residents cannot return home at this time.
