Belgian rock band The Wolf Banes is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. The band formed in Lier, Belgium, with Wim De Ridder, known as ‘Wimmeke Punk,’ uniting rebellious musicians. They began playing music together under his influence.
The band’s story started when a member participated in Humo’s Rockrally while living in Germany. The Wolf Banes are now reflecting on their history.
They are also making plans for a celebratory year. The band noted their most well-known song doesn’t quite fit with their other music. A youth movement from Duffel helped the group reunite.
