Wavre, Belgium Honors Veterans with National Day Ceremonies

Wavre, Belgium will begin a series of patriotic ceremonies on July 21st to commemorate its national day and honor veterans. The events start with a gathering at the Wavre town hall at 9:30 AM, followed by tributes at the Nivelles Street memorial and Saint-Jean-Baptiste church.

The commemorations will continue in Bierges on August 1st with a floral tribute to the war memorial and in the Bois du Val on August 6th, honoring Adjutant Paquit and former mayor Alphonse Bosch. These ceremonies aim to remember those who shaped Wavre’s history and reaffirm the importance of remembrance.
