Drniš Mourns Luka Milovac After Fatal Attack

In Drniš, Croatia, a commemoration was held for Luka Milovac, a young man whose death has deeply affected the community. Family, friends, teachers, and residents gathered to honor his life and offer support to his loved ones. Speakers remembered Luka as a kind and promising student with a bright future.

Hrvoje Pekas, the principal of Ivan Meštrović High School, expressed hope for societal and institutional change following this act of violence, emphasizing the need to prevent similar tragedies. Luka’s physics teacher and class advisor, Ivana Grabić Marin, shared her grief, noting she had looked forward to celebrating her students’ graduation before this loss.

Grabić Marin revealed this is the third time she has mourned a student’s death during her three decades of teaching. She and others are providing support to students struggling with the tragedy, recognizing the emotional immaturity of young people in such situations. The investigation continues into the circumstances surrounding Luka’s death, committed by Kristijan Aleksić, who had a prior conviction.
