Radar EV Pickup Sales Double in the Philippines

UAAGI Auto Group sold 112 Radar RD6 electric pickups in the Philippines during June, more than doubling the 44 units delivered in May. The increase signals growing interest in electric pickup trucks within a market traditionally dominated by diesel vehicles. The Radar RD6, priced starting at P1.438 million (approximately US$25,230), features a unibody platform and offers a driving range of up to 443 kilometers.

The RD6 distinguishes itself with a vehicle-to-load capability, providing up to 3.5 kilowatts of power via cabin and bed outlets. This feature, alongside lower estimated operating costs of roughly US$0.05 per kilometer, is aimed at attracting both commercial and private buyers.

While the electric truck segment is still developing in the Philippines, with BYD and Dongfeng also offering electrified pickups, manufacturers are expanding their presence. UAAGI is currently promoting the RD6 through a roadshow and has established a five-year vehicle warranty, plus an eight-year battery warranty, to support its launch.
