Ancient Theatre and Racecourse Unearthed in Libyan City of Apollonia

French archaeologists working in Apollonia, Libya, announced the discovery of a new ancient theatre and the rediscovery of a Greek racecourse and sacred complexes. The team, led by Professor Vincent Michel, revealed these findings from their base in Susa last Thursday. The racecourse is particularly notable as it appears to be unique within the Cyrenaica region and across the wider Mediterranean basin.
