Dubai Launches ‘Dubai Archive’ Project

The Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Library Foundation in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, launched ‘Dubai Archive’, a project to create a unified document and knowledge management system. The initiative intends to preserve Dubai’s history and strengthen its future planning capabilities.

The project will adopt international best practices for archiving government and historical records. It seeks to improve government efficiency and advance digital transformation across Dubai’s entities. Mohammed Ahmed Al Murr emphasized that a document represents more than an administrative record—it is a record of experiences shaping a nation.

During a launch event, the Foundation signed five cooperation agreements with entities like Dubai Municipality and the Digital Dubai Authority. They also partnered with ONE ECM to develop and operate the archiving system. The project’s full impact awaits the integration of all government records and the long-term sustainability of the digital infrastructure.
