Dubai Prioritizes Rights of People of Determination

Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed, Chairman of the Higher Committee for the Protection of the Rights of People of Determination, led the Committee’s second 2026 meeting in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The meeting focused on developing a comprehensive system to protect these rights and increase participation across sectors. Sheikh Mansoor affirmed Dubai’s commitment to an integrated government framework prioritizing people in policies and services.

The Community Development Authority recently completed 10,363 calls to check on the wellbeing of People of Determination, including 693 calls made using the Sanad Relay application for those who are deaf or hard of hearing. The Knowledge and Human Development Authority presented initiatives to expand flexible and inclusive educational pathways for students.

The Committee reviewed updates on the 2026 work plan, addressing inclusive employment, healthcare, accessibility, and education. Several Dubai government entities signed a pledge to promote sign language communication and accessibility. Work continues to refine services and ensure Dubai remains an inclusive city for all residents.
