Jordan Advances Law to Regulate Vocational Training

Jordan’s Lower House Committee on Labor, Social Development, and Population approved a draft law on Wednesday to regulate professional work in the country. Committee chair Andre Hawari stated the draft Professional Work Regulation Law for 2026 will strengthen oversight of vocational training and practitioners.

The legislation intends to improve training quality and align it with labor market needs. Minister of Labor Dr. Nidal Qatamin explained the bill establishes a legal framework for vocational and technical work, aiming to create a more stimulating environment.

The law focuses on reducing unregulated practices through professional licensing and regulation of training providers. It also seeks to foster collaboration with Jordan’s private sector to ensure training standards remain current with industry demands. The draft law will now move forward for further consideration.
